I just learned Over the Rhine is playing at my alma mater in a couple of weeks, and I’m dying inside about missing it.

Working out without my partner is way less fun :( But I did run, and I HATE running WODs. So at least I pushed myself ❤️ #crossfit #workout #survivalofthefittest

    12-weeks-on:

Kindsness always overcomes antagonism… Instead ofconfronting our children we need to remember to communicate with them, understanding the challenges they face and empathising

Communication is the fundemental building block of a good relationship and after all what more could we want for our children. Establishing a framework where they feel empowered and understand the boubdaries of their acrions drives their ability to make the right choices in life

Eh. But those same words said in frustration come off as sarcastic and possibly more emotionally damaging than the “instead of this” words.

So my request would be that you use the “try this” words ONLY if you can say them with authentic kindness and gentleness.

Says the girl whose parents often used this “try this” words and still feels anxiety thinking about it.
